Emile Labs ("we", "our", or "us") operates the DotsCard mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our App.
1. Children's Privacy
DotsCard is designed for children aged 5-9. We take children's privacy very seriously.
We comply with the Australian Privacy Act 1988, the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and applicable international children's privacy regulations.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent.
Child profiles in the App use only a first name and emoji avatar, which are stored locally on the device.
2. Information We Collect
Information Stored Locally (On Your Device Only)
Profile data: First name and avatar emoji for each child profile
Game data: Scores, streaks, leaderboard entries, match history, and learning progress
Settings: App preferences, notification settings, and subscription status
This data is stored on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
Information Processed by Third Parties
Apple (StoreKit): When you make a purchase, Apple processes the transaction. We do not receive or store your payment information.
Firebase (Google): We use Firebase Realtime Database for the Online Battle multiplayer feature. This processes a display name (first name only) and game session data (scores, room codes). No email addresses, device identifiers, or other personal information are collected.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information described above solely to:
Provide core App functionality (profiles, scores, leaderboards)
Enable multiplayer Online Battle features
Process subscription purchases through Apple
Send local notifications if enabled by the user
We do not:
Sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties
Use data for advertising or marketing purposes
Track users across apps or websites
Use analytics or tracking SDKs
4. Subscriptions
DotsCard offers auto-renewable subscriptions managed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store any payment or billing information.
Premium Monthly: AUD $2.99/month
Premium Annual: AUD $24.99/year
Family Annual: AUD $29.99/year
Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage subscriptions in Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.
5. Data Storage and Security
Profile and game data are stored locally on your device using standard iOS storage mechanisms.
Online Battle data is transmitted via Firebase using encrypted connections (TLS/SSL).
We do not maintain external servers or databases containing user personal information.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
Local data: Deleted when you remove a profile or uninstall the App.
Online Battle data: Game session data is temporary and automatically deleted after the match concludes.
To delete all data, simply uninstall the App from your device.
7. Parental Controls
Parents can manage child profiles within the App
Subscription purchases require Apple ID authentication (parental controls apply)
Notification settings can be adjusted or disabled at any time
No account creation or email registration is required
