Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Math Grid mobile application (the "App") developed by Emile Labs ("we", "our", or "us"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Math Grid, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App. If you are a parent or guardian, you are responsible for your child's use of the App.

2. Description of Service

Math Grid is an educational App designed for children aged 5-7 and up that builds math fluency through the Japanese 100-square calculation drill (hyakumasu keisan). The App offers:

Free features: 3×3 and 4×4 grids, all four operations (+ − × ÷), Auto adaptive difficulty, battles (local and online), up to 3 player profiles
Premium features: All grid sizes including the full 100-square (10×10), manual level picking, premium avatars, and progress backup & restore (available via subscription)
Family features: All Premium features for up to 6 player profiles, with Family Sharing

Core play requires no account and no registration. The single-player and local game modes work fully offline; the optional Online Battle multiplayer feature requires an internet connection (see Section 7).

3. Subscriptions and Payments

3.1 Subscription Plans

Premium Monthly: $2.99 per month
Premium Annual: $24.99 per year
Family Annual: $29.99 per year (supports Family Sharing)

Prices may vary by region based on Apple's pricing tiers.

3.2 Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your Apple ID account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.

3.3 Managing Subscriptions

You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your device's Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.

3.4 Free Trial

If a free trial is offered, any unused portion of the trial period will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

3.5 Refunds

All purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests should be directed to Apple Support.

3.6 Parental Gate

All purchase flows within the App are protected by a parental gate (an adult challenge), keeping purchases under adult control.

4. User Profiles

The App uses local device profiles stored only on your device. No account registration, email, or personal information is required.
Profiles consist of a first name, avatar, and colour chosen by the user.
Users are responsible for managing their own profiles on shared devices.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
Attempt to bypass subscription or entitlement controls, or the parental gate
Use the App for any unlawful purpose

6. Intellectual Property

All content in the App, including but not limited to design, graphics, text, and code, is the property of Emile Labs and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the App without our written consent.

7. Battle Mode

The Battle feature lets players race on the same grid. By using this feature you understand that:

Online Battle is a real-time multiplayer mode that uses a 6-digit room code and exchanges each player's first name, avatar emoji, and live game session data (room code and scores) over an encrypted connection to run the match. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Match session data is temporary and is automatically deleted once the match concludes.
Sharing of room codes from within the App is protected by a parental gate.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Emile Labs shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia.
